Poll

Out of curiosity....and because it's been on my mind quite a bit lately.

If you were sure you didn't want any more kids would you get your tubes tied?  It's so darn permanent, but the thought of getting pregnant again puts FEAR into my soul.

Mirena (an IUD) is another option, but since they are doing a c-section in a few days it's pretty easy to tie the tubes right there while they're staring you in the face.

So what do you think?

Not that I'm a pro at pregnancy stuff or anything, but I think if you're still wondering, don't do it. If you know your done, go for it! That's my two cents worth.

If you only have a few short days to decide...that may be too quick to make a "permanent" decision. With that said, it is a decision that is entirely up to you and "the impregnator". You make me laugh!
You have a beautiful family and I really have never been where you are...but I would want to be positive I was making a decision I could live with (even if that means more kids...are you pulling your hair out right now?).

I'm laughing that only those of us with absolutely no experience in this area are the ones commenting. My 2 cents:

Only do it if you can afford the $30,000+ to adopt if, later, you change your mind.

Or - maybe it's David's turn to go through his own "procedure."

Honestly - The Lord is the only one who can really give you an answer.

Most importantly - you will still be my friend no matter what you decide.

Have David go see Dr. Snip-itz. I have the IUD and LOVE IT!!!!!! I haven't had a period in 2 years!!!Then if you decide that you want to get them tied, you have 5 years. d

I have the Mirena (IUD) and love, love, love it! My OB in Texas told me that she loved hers and that her OB friends all loved theirs and promised I'd love mine too. I do. It lasts 5 years and there are practically no side effects--except for the fact that you will hardly have a period (pretty good side effect!).

Alright, I think I've figured out that the IUD is the way to go. It had better work though because I'm going to be super mad if I end up giving birth to a baby with the IUD stuck in it's head like my mom keeps telling me happened to one of her friends. If that's the case then I'm holding all of you responsible ;)

Was your mom's friend Derick's mom? Oh no, Derick's sister was born with the IUD in her hand, not her head. But that was 35 years ago...I'm sure IUDs are much better now. Think of it this way: if you do get pregnant again, we'll take Griffen. The next one would probably be a girl. :) Good luck tomorrow, Molly! We can't wait to meet the next little (or should I say big--I'm betting over 10 lbs) Rubert. BTW This was written by Julia and not Derick--if you couldn't already guess that.
